What is this thing: The Decorative Shoe Clip

I can remember being baffled by these huge, painful earrings as a child so I thought I would take a moment to share what my grandmother revealed to me when I was 8. You use them to decorate your shoes! I've always worried they would leave a dint in the shoe itself, but it is undeniable that there are some pretty fantastic vintage clips floating around.

What is this thing: The Collar Corner

When I first met collar corners I had no idea what they were. These were mixed in with the brooches at a thrift store. Now that I know, it all makes sense. As you can see, there slip over the collar points of your western style shirt. Spurs for your collar. I think that they are fabulous. The first set I found clips on:

And, VOILA! (sadly I did not have an shirt with acutely angled collar points to demonstrate, but IMAGINE)
