Mad about MichellePhan

I stumbled across MichellePhan's channel on youtube by way of the DIY Makeup thread over at Indiebride.

I think she is completely fabulous. I am not completely useless when it comes to makeup, but I've always had issues with eyeliner/eyeshadow and I am loving this lady.

A few of my favorites so far:

1. Makeup for Glasses - I was really surprised by this one. I've pretty much stopped wearing my glasses much of anywhere, half because they were stepped on, and half because I always feel super washed out in them. I was fairly shocked by the amount of eye makeup Michelle was using, especially the HUGE (to me) false lower lashes - but when she put her glasses on it all looked so fabulous and sophisticated! Colour me surprised.
2. Fresh 5 Minutes Makeup - I feel much more comfortable doing my brows, now - and the mascara 'card' - GENIUS.
3. Romantic Valentine Look - This is the one being recommended for weddings over at Indiebride. I really like it. Huge plus is that I happen to have that exact eyeshadow palette socked away. Re-highlighting the nose and cheek bones with lavender was a new idea for me, but one I am going to try, and I was honestly never sure before this what that whole 'blend your eyeshadow' business was about. Love it. This video had too many good tips.
